HEAVY PARADISE, THE PARADISE OF MELODIC ROCK!

Bulletrain was founded back in 2006 by guitarist Mattias Persson and drummer Jonas Tillheden in the suburbs of Helsingborg, Sweden. With the addition of singer Robert Lindell, bassist Tim Svalö and guitarist Adam Börvall who later was replaced by the guitarist Robin Bengtsson, Bulletrain released their first EP "Johnny Gonebad" on their own in 2007. "Turn It Up!" was the band's next step in 2009 and, nowadays, the band is ready to unleash its debut album which is entitled "Start Talking".

Bulletrain's music has attitude, it is like a fist in your face and for sure it's gonna make some heads bang! The vocals are powerful, the guitars are sharp with clever riffs and solos and all of the songs are tight and well-written!

The opening tune of "Nothing But Trouble" is pure hair metal delight; in some parts it reminded me of Shotgun Messiah's "Second Coming". Yes, it has this bad-ass attitude that takes this song to a higher level and the guitars here gonna kick some serious asses! "All For One" is a more fast-paced rocker while "From The Bottom Of My Heart" is yet another Shotgun Messiah-esque track and, of course, another highlight from the new record. The chorus line is killer! Now it's time for some serious talking with "Start Talking"; yep,this is a huge sing-a-long Scandi hair metal anthem that' gonna blow you away! Listen, also, to the really stunning "Bad Blood" that brings back the sound of the late 80's back in such a unique way!

Bottom line is that BULLETRAIN with this really impressive release achieve to bring back the hair metal of the late 80's, early 90's, back without loosing their own identity. It's fresh, it has attitude, a big and powerful sound and it's going to end-up high in this year's Top list! Great album!

British melodic hard rock giants TEN to unveil the European track listing for the new album 'Albion', officially released on the 21st November, 2014 via Rocktopia Records/Cargo Records. Limited advance copies of 'Albion' will actually be available to buy at their UK Firefest Performance, October 24th and at the album pre-listening party on October 23rd at The Royal Suite, the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Nottingham. Rediscovered after 41 years – The forgotten 1^st Pavlov's Dog album from 1973

On Novemer 28^th the believed lost „Pekin Tapes“ by Pavlov's Dog will be released by Rockville Music. The „Pekin Tapes“ were recorded in October 1973, nearly two years before „Pampered Menial“, and were originally intented to become the band's debut album. They fascinatingly demonstrate the variety and wide-ranging musical scope of the early Pavlov's Dog, as the band itself handled the production, with no outside producer to answer to.

When ABC Records listened to the „Pekin Tapes“, they signed the band and decided to send them back to studio to produce a completely new album: “Pampered Menial“ was released in 1975 and became a milestone in Progressive Rock history. The „Pekin Tapes“ though were never used and finally forgotten. Golden Voice Studio in Pekin/IL burned down in 1977, taking with it the masters of the “Pekin Tapes“.

They were believed lost since then. Unexpectedly, in 2014 a copy of the “Pekin Tapes“ was discovered. After going to extensive lengths to restore the tape, the “Pekin Tapes“ will be released with a delay of some 41 years. Additionally, the release includes four bonus tracks of early demo recordings from March 1973. These are the earliest Pavlov's Dog signs of life ever discovered.

The heavy metal 'monsters'LORDI are back with their brand new album which is entitled "Scare Force One". The band's latest release, "To Beast Or Not To Beast", was a damn fine platter that I enjoyed it a lot. Nowadays, Mr. Lordi and his crew are back once again to deliver another solid effort that will please every single fan of this band.

LORDI with this new one take their sound to another level; and please don't misunderstood me. All the elements of their earlier releases are here except that in "Scare Force One" you will find some new more 'modern' elements and as Mr. Lordi says : "The overall sound of the band is more modern, too, and we’ve tried out some new tricks here and there. The basic Lordi building blocks are still present, so there’s no shortage of melodic hooks in the songs. The first single, Nailed by the Hammer of Frankenstein, is quite representative of where the band is right now". Also, the new record was produced by Finnish veteran producer Mikko Karmila.

"Scare Force One" opens the new record in a 'classic' way; it's heavy, it's dark, it has a big and fat sound and generally has every little thing that we love or hate form this band!!!! "How To Slice A Whore" is a fast-paced heavy rocker, it has attitude and a killer riffing that takes no prisoners. "Hell Sent In The Clowns" is the first highlight of the new album! Here, the new elements are more obvious but when it comes to the chorus we have 100% LORDI! The chorus line here grabbed me by the balls and left me hungry for more! "Monster Is My Name" has a nice groove while "Nailed By The Hammer Of Frankenstein" is yet another heavy to the bone anthem with a killer chorus and a breathtaking solo!

"Scare Force One" is another solid release by the Finish 'monsters' LORDI!!! The band that hit like a thunder with their image and sound in 2006 and won the European Contest continuing to deliver some really impressive music and stay loyal to what they believe; and in what do they believe? To pure, powerful and ass-kickin' heavy metal!

The name is deriving from—quite obviously—chaos, the mechanism of tearing down preconceived notions, clearing a path for new realms of creative endeavors. The cause came together internationally, breaking down boundaries and borders. Music without rules and without obstacles is the basis for creative motion and innovation. Out of that, Khaøs was born.

KHAOS consists of Chandler Mogel on vocals, Mark Rossi on guitar, N I c Angileri on bass and Trevor Franklin on drums. RISEN recorded by Rolf Munkes at his Empire Studios in Germany and mastered by music legend and award winner for Adele’s ‘21’ Tom Coyne at Sterling Sound in New York.

To be honest with you here, I was really anxious to hear more music from this band after the fantastic single "After The Silence" that came out earlier this year.

The album kicks-off with the simply breathtaking "After The Silence" (read above). "Crisis Factor" that follows is another excellent modern heavy rocker that includes a brilliant solo, powerful vocal lines by Mogel and a killer chorus line! "Exalted" is movin' to some 'classic' rock paths with a moodier vibe while in "Loaded Question" we have another highlight out of the new record. Another excellent modern and in-your-face rocker that takes no prisoners. "Ride The Chain" and "Static Windows" are both rocked my world with their big and fat guitar sound and the powerful performances. "Hung The Moon" includes a hunting melody and a 'darker' vibe and once again Chandler Mogel's amazing vocal lines that rockets this tune to a higher level. Superb stuff!!

Bottom line is that KHAOS with their debut achieve to impress us with their 'dark' and technical music. "Risen" achieves to balance between hard rock and modern rock with style! It's dark, it's beautiful, it has attitude and all the musicians here put heart and soul and that's a thing that reflects in every single moment of it!

The thing with UK-melodic rockers VEGA is gettin' better and better with each release. After the very successful and more AOR-ish debut "Kiss Of Life" came the punchier "What The Hell" in 2012 that really rocked my world. Nowadays, it's time for opus number three and, believe me, it's gonna take VEGA to a higher level!

This time the hooks and choruses are bigger, the performances tighter and overall "Stereo Messiah" it's about a brilliant album.

The album kicks-off with two great ass-kickin' rockers; "Stereo Messiah" and "All Or Nothing" are both rocks! Great arrangements, 'clever' hooks and choruses, powerful performances by Nick Workman (an excellent singer) and a big and 'fat' guitar sound. Do you want more? If yes, then, check the ultra catchy tune of "Gonna Need Some Love Tonight". Man, this song is pure melodic rock bliss; it features a so sweet melody, a feel-good vibe and the chorus line sends you to heaven and back again! "10 x Bigger Than Love", which features Joe Elliott (Def Leppard) , is a great up-tempo rocker, very Def Leppard-ish with an explosive chorus line to sing-a-long for days! Brilliant stuff! Check, also, the more commercial and anthemic tune of "The Wild, The Weird, The Wonderful" and the emotional ballad of "Tears Never Dry" and you'll discover a really great album!

All in all, I have to say that VEGA are back with their best album to-date! More melodies, more harmonies, more catchy choruses to die for, a big sound and some really impressive performances are the ingredients of "Stereo Messiah". And one last thing, the front-cover is amazing!!!

The first chapter, "The Battle", of this amazing project was in 2005 and it was, and still is, a classic in my book. Strong harmonies, powerful and emotional performances were the ingredients of that record. Many websites and magazines named it "Record of the Year". Its success made it one of the most popular releases ever in Melodic Heavy Metal. "The Revenge", in 2007, was another solid release and a bit heavier while "The Showdown", three years later, closed the trilogy.

Nowadays, the powerful duo of Russell Allen and Jorn Lande are back with another strong effort in the same vain as in their previous three albums. This time "The Great Divide" sees a majors change in the formula since songwriting and production are now in the hands of Timo Tolkki, former Stratovarius member.

The new album starts-off with the brilliant and extremely melodic "Come Dream With Me". This is just killer melodic metal at its best; powerful, with superb vocal lines by these two excellent singers and with a chorus line to sing-a-long for days! "Down From The Mountain" is heavier (Timo Tolkki's signature) but with, again. a huge chorus. "In The Hands Of Time" melodies take command and at the end we have another winner out of this new record. Great arrangements and a so melodic guitar line compose this really stunning tune! "Dream About Tomorrow" is yet another highlight while "The Great Divine" will surprise you with its 'dark' and doomy sound. Very Black Sabbath-ish this tune is simply breathtaking! Check out, also, the more commercial "Reaching For The Stars" that sounds like a leftover from the debut album.

Allen-Lande are back with another solid release, no doubt 'bout that! I really can't say if this new one is better than the classic debut but, for sure, I can say that "The Great Divine" gettin' close to that huge record. Great arrangements, a big and heavy guitar sound, well-composed songs and, most of all, superb performances!

Back in 2000, ADRIANGALE, a new hard rock band, was born and put a smile upon the face of every classic hard rock fan out there. It combined the sound of acts such as Danger Danger, Firehouse and Bon Jovi and that means catchy choruses, sweet guitar solos and a tight musicianship. The band that was formed by vocalist Jamie Rowe (GUARDIAN) and guitar player Vic Vivera, since the debut, it delivered some really solid albums like "Crunch" and the last year's solid opus "Suckerpunch!".

Nowadays, Adriangale is back with the brand new "Defiance" and it's ready, once again, to impress us with its pure late 80's hard rock sound. As in their previous albums, in this one as well it is a combination of heavy, still melodic, riffs, 'clever' n' memorable hooks and choruses and a superb musicianship.

"Defiance", the opening track, is pure hard rock bliss! Heavier but with a brilliant melody and a killer guitar work by Vic Rivera! "Yours Forever" is yet another heavier tune with a big and fat sound and a catchy hook and chorus. "Back To You" features more melody, it's commercial and it reminded me a bit of Danger Danger's latest work (Revolve). Sweet! Other highlights from the new album are the ultra-catchy tune of "Sometimes", the anthemic "Fire" and the emotional ballad of "Last Of My Heart".

This band is gettin' better and better with each release! They deserve more recognition 'cause their music is pure melodic hard rock heaven in an old fashion way. Do a favor to yourself and check this album out! Extremely enjoyable from start to finish!

On "Adrenaline Rush" a catchy tune follows another and it clearly shows that Michael Klein, the band’s lead guitarist and songwriter, has enormously improved his songwriting from album to album.

None other than singer David Reece (ex Accept, Bangalore Choir) supported the band and substituted for Robert Soeterboek, who unfortunately was forced to step back because of personal health reasons.

David Reece immediately turned out to be the right choice for the band and perfectly blends into the songs of Wicked Sensation. Already the opener "King of the World" delivers superb hooks and melodies which reach their highlight in the chorus while Harry Hess (Harem Scarem) can be heard together with David Reece.

Without a break the band continues with "Same Old Situation" hich comes as a perfect blend of Van Halen and Extreme and is full of groove. Again, Harry Hess gives his honor and can be heard in the chorus, accompanied by Eric Ragno (Graham Bonnet) on the keyboard.

With "Misery" the album goes straight the way it started - delivering catchy tunes without a break, and Michael Klein and Sang Vong prove to be the perfect guitar duo.

Again on "Adrenaline Rush” all the typical song styles of Wicked Sensation can be found without the band moving away from their typical sound.

The title track "Adrenaline Rush" delivers a real “Metal Firecracker”, for which the band was able to sign on Mathias Dieth (ex U.D.O. guitarist) for an outstanding guitar solo.

In addition to their fourth “long player” the band fully relied on their producer Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Pink Cream69) to give "Adrenaline Rush" the necessary pressure and punch. The last song “This Time", an acoustic ballad, closes the curtains.

WONDERWORLD is a new project that consists of Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth), Ken Ingwersen (Street Legal) and Tom Fossheim (Live Fire). While these guys were recording the latest Ken Hensley album “Trouble”, they came up with the idea to do an album together as a classic rock power-trio, with no keyboards...just pure energetic hard rock. Just based on the rare chemistry of musicianship and friendship, the guys knew that this was something they had to do.

Roberto Tiranti's work is well-known with his main band Labyrinth. He has, also, shared stage with many great musicians, such as: Martin Barre (Jethro Tull), Clive Bunker (ex-Jethro Tull), John Anthony Helliwell (Supertramp), Glenn Hughes (ex-Deep Purple), Billy Preston, Ian Paice (Deep Purple) and more. Ken (JR) Ingwersen is a guitar player in bands like Evenrude, Rags, Speed,
Street Legal and his own solo project; Kens Dojo. Tom has, also, been a member of the Norwegian singer Anita Hegerland's (Mike Oldfield) Starfish Band. He has worked as well with a lot of local artists, such as Ronni LeTekrø (TNT), Tore St.Moren (Jorn), the black metal band Crest of Darkness, the folk/rock band Vestlandsfanden and the rock band Øsekara.

"Wonderworld", the opening tune, is the first sample of this band and I have to admit that it's a great opener! A big groove. Tiranti's amazing vocal lines and a tight as hell musicianship plus a catchy and melodic chorus and there you have the first highlight of the album. "Break The Chains" is yet another groovy track, a bit slower but really solid. "Every Now And Then" is a more straight forward rocker that features a classic hard rock sound and a 'punchier' guitar sound. "The Sound Of The World" is just a killer song; a very atmospheric power-ballad that Tiranti rockets it to a higher level with his stunning performances!! Brilliant stuff!!! Another highlight from the new album is the Kotzen-esque "Hero Without Stains".

Really surprised by WONDERWORLD's debut release; a top notch musicianship, solid and well-written tracks and excellent performances. Plus a really inspired guitar work and there you have a very good album that can't be missed by any fan of the hard rock scene in general!

Greek AOR-sters Wild Rose are back with album number three! "Hit 'n' Run" is entitled the band's newest effort and once again Wild Rose is ready to deliver another release full of beautiful melodies, solid arrangements, very good performances and this time a 'punchier' guitar sound. With the debut,"Half Past Midnight", the band achieved to make some noise in the melodic rock/AOR world and with "Dangerous", in 2013, they gained the impression even more melodic fans. "Dangerous" was the first album that featured new lead vocalist David A. Saylor (Push UK).

As in their previous two records, Wild Rose continue the same melodic formula and, as I already mentioned above, this time with a more 'punchier' guitar sound. The opening tune of "Through the Night" is probably one of the best tracks that Wild Rose ever recorded. AOR with attitude and a chorus line to die for! "Stay" is yet another highlight out of the new album; it features a 'heavier' riffing by Andy Rock, powerful vocal lines by David A. Saylor and, of course, another memorable chorus! Bottom line is that Wild Rose's third album is pure candy in my ears! Well-crafted songs, pure 80's melodies, catchy 'n' memorable choruses, very good arrangements plus a fantastic singer. What else do you need? Wild Rose has nothing to be envy about regarding today's European melodic rock bands and it is ready for some bigger things in the near future.

BAILEY is the new solo project masterminded by THREE LIONS frontman Nigel Bailey. Although a relatively new name on the scene, Nigel has a vast experience as both a songwriter and performer. His deal with Frontiers served to bring to light his shining talent both as a powerful vocalist and also as a songwriter. Brand new compositions along with some material written over the years have been combined to complete an exciting solo debut. “I wrote the bulk of the album songs between 2011 and mid 2012” says Nigel. “The plan was to write songs with no particular influences in mind. I have always loved rock music and wrote songs as they came to me. I didn’t have a particular style in mind which is reflected in the various styles on the record.”

With some similarities to THREE LIONS in terms of influences, BAILEY is slightly heavier and more varied in its approach whilst still maintaining the edge and the trademark melodies of Classic British Hard Rock tradition. “If pushed, I would say that In The Name Of The King, Long Way Down and Stay are my personal favourites and show the variety in my writing and vocal style” tells Nigel. This record will be a surprise for many and an absolute must for all British Melodic Hard Rock fans!

SF Bay Area Metallers KILL RITUAL have announced the addition of drummer Koryun Bobikyan to the group's ranks, who takes over for the recently departed Gee Anzalone (DragonForce).

Koryun is a SF Bay Area local by the way of Armenia where he performed in numerous bands (Stryfe, Sacrond, Sworn) and even performed with Ian Gillan (Deep Purple) in part with the Armenian Symphonic Orchestra. He's also a professional violinist and drum teacher who has performed over 700 concerts.

Guitarist Steve Rice comments on the new addition to the line up: "Kore was one of the best candidates that submitted material and has an extensive professional resume in his performances as both a drummer and violinist. Being that he's in the Bay Area is just icing on the cake. He'll be immediately thrown into the fire recording drum tracks to our new CD which is 90% completed and ready for a 2015 release. We look forward to hitting the road once again in 2015 and productive future with our latest line up."
